Sažetak
Realisation of the energy policy of the republic of Croatia is planned through a certain number of national energy development programs whose goals are, among others to come to the most efficient consumption management and phased increase in use of renewable energy sources. These programs comprise a number of legal, economic and promotional measures that could be pursued by government, counties and cities, and other legal and natural persons concerned.
In March 1997, as a result of the Republic of Croatia decision, a certain number of agreements were reached to meet the need for initialization and management of ten national energy programs, between government institutions, HEP, INA and other state owned companies on the one, and the Energy Institute "Hrvoje Požar" on the other side. Those ten national energy programs are as follows:
PLINCRO Gasification Program in Croatia
KOGEN Cogeneration Program
MIEE Industrial Energy Efficiency Network
MAHE Small Hydro Power Plants Construction Program
SUNEN Solar Energy Use Program
BIOEN Biomass and Waste Use Program
ENWIND Wind Energy Use Program
GEOEN Geothermal Energy Use Program
KUENbuilding Building Energy Efficiency Program
KUENcts Energy Efficiency in Centralized Thermal Systems Program
Th first phase of these ten national energy programs has been finished in April 1998 and the main results are going to be presented in this paper. Main results comprise: current situation in Croatia, energy potential analysis, economic and financial characteristics, as well as measures needed to increase the use of renewables and energy efficiency.
