Sažetak
Possibilities of energy production from biomass are lately considered in many developed European countries. National energy program BIOEN (Biomass and Waste Use Program) has the aim of providing permanent care for the use of biomass and waste for energy production and environmental protection In the first phase, the primary task was to make a draft of the program that involves an assessment of the energy potential, setting up the aims and real dynamics of realisation, economic and financial features, organisation and necessary institutions, as well as other activities important for the program. This paper deals with most important aspects and results of the BIOEN program.
