Sažetak
The article presents all activities undertaken so far to analyse the potential of small streams in the Republic of Croatia and highlights the problems that private investors can encounter within the existing legislature in the construction of small hydro power plants. In order to create conditions for enterprising and eliminate all obstacles in the construction of small hydro power plants on small streams and locations which meet all environment and natural heritage protection criteria, a National Energy Programme has been launched in Croatia for the construction of small hydro power plants, defining the activities for further analysis of energy potential and the state strategy for stimulating investments in those objects.
