Sažetak
In the present epidemiological study blood pressure, age and body mass index was evaluated in two regions in Croatia with different calcium intake. Parameters were measured in two groups of non-smoking peasant women (99 in each group) living in two region with significantly different calcium intake and significantly different blood lead levels. No statistical difference was found between the regions in age, body mass index and systolic blood pressure. The diastolic pressure was significantly higher in women on lower calcium intake and with higher blood lead levels.
