Sažetak
In the last five years, the huge amount of houses and objects of national heritage were restored with fine workmanship. As the wood was one of the most used construction materials in the restoration and reconstruction processes, the scientists and specialists from the Faculty of Forestry also took part in those processes. The aim of this article is to orient and advice the restorers on the correct use of different wood species and the proper use of new and traditional methods and preservatives in the processes of the restoration and reconstruction. All this advices in view of the extension of the service life of valuable heritage objects.
