Sažetak
Beyond any doubt, a satisfactory level of information literacy is one of the preconditions to be fulfilled prior to embarking upon information society. This goal may be effectively achieved through preschool education and upbringing, involving not only children, but also their teachers and parents. While developing the preschool curriculum, observing the goals implied in education and upbringing on one hand and children's individual requirements, social and communicative skills on the other hand, are equally important. This paper encompasses basic pedagogic assumptions regarding computer usage and various sources of information at the preschool age in accordance with developmental needs of preschool children, which, among others, are closely related to their parents and teachers' information literacy. The findings of the research have provided the basis for establishing the current state of information literacy of preschool children, including indicators such as the frequency of using computers as well as other media and sources of information. Upon analyzing the current state, certain possibilities of enhancing information literacy at the preschool age were highlighted and its dependence on the level of preschool children's parents and teachers' information literacy, as well as that of children's general competence, ascertained.
