Sažetak
This paper describes the influence of grain refiners, modifiers and cooling rate on microstructure of Al-Si alloys. Solidification of 239 (AlSi10Mg) and 226 (AlSi9Cu3) alloys has been investigated. Investigations have been made by &raquo ; in situ&laquo ; thermal analysis, simultaneous thermal analysis (STA) chemical analysis and metallographic analysis. Investigated alloys have been grain refined and modified. By cooling curves at different cooling rates the undercooling and recalescence of primary and eutectic crystallization have been detected and related with largeness of primary crystals of α Al and eutectic phase β Si from eutectic (α Al + β Si). The relation between largeness of microstructural constituents and cooling rate was determined with physical models as well.
