Sažetak
The paper deals with intermodulation distortion caused by nonlinearities of wideband CATV amplifiers. The intermodulation products and the harmonics were investigated depending on signal levels, number of input signals, linear and "tilted" amplifier laodings and different kind of amplifier characteristics. The frequency distribution of amplifier output spectrum components was simulated on the basis of computer calculation. The amplitudes of IM products are very sensitive to the signal levels. Using slope controlled signal before passing the amplifier output stage, the amount of RF energy passed through the unit can be reduced, and the distribution of intermodulation distortion products of the amplifier can be improved.
