Sažetak
Vrana Lake is the largest lake in Croatia with approximately 30 km2 of surface and is specific by its geological-geographical characteristics. The lake is a kryptodepression situated in the middle Dalmatia, and has a Dinaric direction of extension in the near proximity of the sea shore. It is connected to the sea through underground interstices, as well as through canal Prosika, in its south-eastern part. Together with its surroundings the lake has been declared a Nature park on July 21st 1999. In spite of its great biological importance there has never been an intensive nor systematic investigation of its flora, therefore only 148 vascular plant taxa have been noted so far. Inventory and mapping of the Park's vascular flora was started in June 2006 using the standard MTB 1/64 mapping methodology, according to the proposed national standard. Our investigations were continued in October 2006 and in May 2007 with an objective to get as thorough overview of vascular flora as possible considering the vegetational season. According to data processed so far, we have recorded more than 400 plant taxa. As we plan more field investigations, we do not expect this number to be final. All the data on recorded plant taxa will be entered in the Flora Croatica Database 2.7. (FCD). We are presenting vascular flora of the Nature Park “ Vrana Lake” as well as showing family affiliation of recorded plants. Special attention is given to rare, endemic, endangered and protected plant taxa.
