Sažetak
The professional-scientific journal Diabetologia Croatica was first issued in 1972 and its publication continued for the past 25 years. At the beginning, the publication was bilingual (Croatian/English), whereas in 1989 it was switched to the English edition only. The journal has been issued quarterly and until now there were altogether 95 issues and 14 supplements with the total of 965 articles. Among these, 625 articles were assessed as belonging to the scientific and 340 to the professional category. Articles by the authors from the Vuk Vrhovac Institute for Diabetes, Endocrinology and Metabolic Diseases accounted for 25% of the total number of published papers, those by other authors from Croatia were represented with 43%, whereas the remaining 32% were submitted by the authors from the international community. The journal is accessible to the international medical audience through different ways. It is being referred in Excerpta Medica, Section 3. Endocrinology, Chemical Abstracts and Biological Abstracts (BIOSIS). It is also part of many library holdings. It has been successfully exchanged with many recognized journals, i.e. 57 in total so far, and 46 currently, among which there are 40 international ones. A review of the Science Citation Index (SCI) has revealed that there were 132 citations of the journal's articles in international publications until 1995.
