Sažetak
From the geological point of view, Eastern Slavonija and Baranja are built mostly of the Pleistocene loess and Holocene alluvial sediments. Four typical profiles on the Bansko brdo Mt. and along the Danube River were investigated and subjected to detailed geochemical investigations. Intensive autochthonous pedogenesis is required for the K-horizon formation, suggesting that several K-horizons without interbedded paleosols must indicate erosion of their ones existed paleosols. Thus, the possibility of marking paleosols by “ counting from surface” is ruled out. The synthesis of investigated profiles would probably result with at least eight profiles. The preliminary results of dating indicate that the oldest analysed paleosol was deposited during the Riβ /Würm interglacial. Well developed investigated paleosols are Eutric Cambisols, while the less developed paleosols are Kastenozems. As far as investigated profiles are concerned, A-horizon is eroded from all paleosols. Paleosols are enriched with less mobile trace elements, which is especially emphasized in the well developed paleosols. Paleosol horizons could be clearly extracted from loess on the bases of weathering coefficients - Ba/Sr, and (CaO+Na2O+MgO+K2O)/Al2O3. Results of statistical tests showed that weathering coefficient Ba/Sr, fits the criteria of equality of variances and means for less and for better developed horizons of paleosols. Accordingly, possibility cannot be rejected that the two sub-groups of samples belong to the same population (paleosols).
