Sažetak
In the article "The incidence of cerbrovascular insult in the city of Split, Croatia, during the 1991-1992 War" the author reports on the considerable increase in the number of patients with cerbrovascular insult (CVI) sent to posthospital rehabilitation treatment during a single war year (1992) in relation to a single pre-war year (1989), suggesting possible increased incidence of CVI. In addition, the author reports on slightly increased mortality due to CVI in affected population in 1992. I studied the incidence of stroke in the Mid-Dalmatian region (County of Split) in the 1986-1995 period for which I found no significant changes in the incidence of CVI. Even though my data refer to the entire County (with the population of 474 019 after the census of 1991, whereas the town of Split counted 200 459 inhabitants after the same census) no essential differences in the incidence between the County as a whole and the town of Split are to be expected.......
