Sažetak
In continental Croatia, strawberry is usually planted in extensive production system where plant-life is two or three yeras. In the extensive strawberry production the high yields are usually achieved only in the first year of production, while the yields and fruit quality decrease in the second and the third year. Althiugh lower yields, growers are continuing with production in the extensive system because of the high inputs needed in intensive system. That is the reason why we have conducted the research of repeated planting of strawberries on the same place in the field after one vegetation season. In this system, the same irrigation equipment and black plastic mulch were used for repeated planting. The trials, with strawberry cultivars "Madleine" and "Clery", were conducted in Zagreb in 2006 and 2007. Cold stored (frigo) strawberry plants were planted on the same place where plants had been removed after the previous year harvest. Plants were planted in two rows on the black plastic mulch in 2006. They were covered with high tunnels (Verona type) in 2007. The parameters measured in the research were: time of flowering, time and dynamics of harvest and number and weight of fruits. It was noted that flowering and harvest of the strawberries are earlier in the one-year system than in two-year production system. Significantly lower yields were achieved in the one-year production system. Since the begenning of the harvest was earlier in one-year system, market price of harvested fruit was higher than in two-row system. After collecting and comparing the data, the economical parametars of these two strawberry production systems were analyzed.
