Sažetak
Innovative entrepreneurial activity is a prerequsite for achieving and maintaining sustainable competitiveness and economic development. In Western Balkans, innovation in small to medium-scale firms is essential for closing the productivity gap with the European Union. But the findings of the 2007 Small to Medium-Sized Enterprise (SME) Policy Index revealed that in the Western Balkans one of the least advanced areas within the Charter for Small Enterprises is the support and fostering of innovation amongst SMEs, including product innovation, process innovation and marketing innovation.
