Sažetak
Bilingualism as a language phenomenon can be described and defined from different points of view. Many authors have given some very broad definitions of bilingualism, not paying much attention to the categorization of the notions used and therefore provided definitions which opened up a whole series of problems. The present article elaborates on the problems with the definition of bilingualism on the psycholinguistic and sociolinguistic point of view, as well as on the problem with defining the types of bilingual speakers, giving an insight into the topic and providing some possible solutions.
