Sažetak
In the last decade the family is viewed as dynamic system of relations in interaction (Cox, Paley, 2003, Ross, Stein, Trabasso, Woody, Ross, 2005). Healthy family climate and children development depend of strong, affective relationships between family members (Cummings, Davies, Campbell, 2000, after Ross, Stein, Trabasso, Woody, Ross, 2005). Family systems theorists suggest that family members may perceive their family environments differently, depending on their family roles, their experience within the family and the amount of investment in family-related issues (Feldman, Qwentzel and Gehring, 1989 ; Minuchin, 1985). Adolescent siblings' perceptions of their family can be different and compared with one another (Moos and Moos, 2002). The Family Environment Scale (FES, Moos and Moos, 2002) can be used to describe family social environments, to contrast parents and children’ s perceptions, and to compare actual and preferred family climates. So for that purpose FES was adapted and Croatian version was used in this study from comparing perception of family climate between children with special needs and their siblings. The sample included 24 children with special needs who attended the 6th grade in regular schools and their typical siblings (N =24). Data analysis is in progress. Results will be presented.
