Sažetak
The research shows that the level of the strategic planning in companies directly affects the business strategies implementation and evaluation. The conclusion confronts small and medium sized enterprises (SME) with the challenges of improving their strategic planning process. In like manner, the research has shown that there is a clear and straight relationship between the strategic planning and the strategy implementation in both small and big enterprises. The widely used and modern methodology for supporting the activities of strategic management in large enterprises is the Balanced Scorecard. A possible approach in implementing the Balanced Scorecard into an SME is presented in this paper. This approach is supported by the Microsoft Office Solution - accelerator for Business Scorecard. The facts in this paper are based on general data, which exists in the literature on BSC, SME, and the authors' experience in strategic management and the implementation of this method in smaller companies.
