Sažetak
In the introduction the NMEA 2000 (National Marine Electronic Association) standard, its goal, and the parts of the NMEA 2000 standard with CAN (Controller Area Network) protocol are explained. In the second part, the basic feauters of the CAN protocol are described, with a more detailed descriptions of the following feauters: CSMA/CA logic (Carrier Sense Multiply Access/Collision Avoidance), differential levels of signals, CRC check, bit-stuffing, connecting and disconnecting communications units into the net, multi-master concept and the relation betwween bus lenths and transfer rates by NMEA 2000 and CAN. In the third part different fieldbuses are compared with respect to their basic features.
