Sažetak
An effective way to increase the combustion efficiency is to use the hot exhaust gases for preheating the air which is supplied to the burners. A disadvantages of air preheat is, however, that this energy saving technique increases the flame temperature and more thermal NOx is produced. This paper present several different techniques have been developed to lower the NOx formation within high temperature flames. The effect of this improvement on the combustion process can be clearly seen by the predicted distribution of gas temperature and species concentration in the furnace. Adequate mathematical models and experimental measurements to be used in highlighting the physical and chemical phenomena that occur in a burner flame are also reviewed and discussed in this paper.
