Sažetak
Application of business intelligence in banking sector is getting more important due to implementation of Basel 2 in every country which has incorporated Basel 2 into its banking regulation. Business Intelligence is one of the best new, innovative ‘ weapons’ for the firms to gain competitive advantage. Since Croatia is a European country which expects to have the new banking regulation under the Basel 2 starting with 2009, a survey research has been conducted with aim to examine the present implementation of business intelligence tools in the Croatian banking system. Also in this paper it is discussed how banks in Croatia are preparing for Basel 2, which business intelligence tools they use, which problems and expectations they are facing related to risk management and Basel 2.
