Sažetak
The fuel efficiency can be greatly improved by use of the variable power-train mechanics. We have described where, after a competent and detailed analysis, experimental IC engine with variable compression ratio (CVCRcontinuously variable compression ratio) and with flexible Otto/Diesel process. At lower loads engine achieves the greatest efficiency operating with Diesel cycle. At higher loads and homogenous mixture combustion corresponds to Otto cycle. These concepts, for the optimization of engine thermodynamics and mechanics, as well as application strategies for the reduction of fuel consumption, can be easily implemented into passengercar power-train projects. The Two-Mode Hybrid (General Motors, DaimlerChrysler and BMW Group) is a full hybrid system that enables significant improvement in composite fuel economy while providing uncompromised performance and towing capability. In city driving and stop-and-go traffic, the vehicle can be powered either by the two electric motors or by the combustion engine, or both simultaneously. The Two-Mode Hybrid can also drive the vehicle using an input power-split range, a compound power-split range or four fixed-ratio transmission gears. The system is flexible and efficient, with smaller motors, inverter module and battery that enable numerous cost advantages. Fuel economy of a passenger car with variable power train = CVCR engine + hybrid transmission → increase by at least 50%.
