Sažetak
Use of the bead mills for comminution ensures better product quality together with lower energy consumption. Industrial bead mills are continuously operated devices characterized by high filling level of the grinding chamber with product and grinding media. Because of that fact, developed pressure in grinding chamber exceeds the hydraulic pressure and therefore those units must have closed grinding circuit coupled with system for withdrawal of the grinded material.
In purpose of developing and testing method for the prediction of grinded particles size distribution function, original material is fractionated in set of narrow sized fractions and each fraction is comminuted on different concentration of the suspension. In order to predict the size distribution after the grinding of the material with some known particle distribution function, formal model is developed based on the test fractions grinding data.
Eighty tests were performed in two cylinders of different lengths. The tests were carried out with monosize particles of different suspension concentrations.
The method applied was formal interpolation by bicubic "spline" on the basis of the results obtained by comminution. Basis of the method is the sieving of some original sample with particle size distribution Q_3^u(x) on L discrete fractions of different sizes and comminution of this fraction on R different suspension concentrations, cr.
Resulting size distribution, Q_3^n(x) for the sample that is comminuted in the suspension concentration cn, was estimated on the obtain experimental data assembly.
Comparison of experimental data and computed size distribution, show a good agreement.
