Sažetak
An overview of a known class of estimators based on supplementary survey information and usage of simple random sampling would be given. The estimators would be considered theoretically, with only a brief illustrative example of application. A finite population arithmetic mean would be estimated first by a simple expansion of a sample mean approach, and then by a ratio, a regression, a difference and by a product estimator. All the estimators except the first one were based on an auxiliary variable, i.e. on supplementary information. The usage of large samples was assumed, so that approximation of variance formulas for each of the biased estimators could be applied and that comparison of precision of the estimators could be discussed.
