Sažetak
In our study we made a chronological review of technological, personnel and expert development of the Department of Nuclear Medicine of Osijek University Hospital, from its institutional foundation in 1967 until 2007, clearly grasping both material and technical foundation and development aspects, processes of gaining and applying the new technologies and radiopharmacy, growth of personnel and its expert and academic profiling, continuous educational improving of our employees. Besides regular diagnostician and therapeutic solicitous activities, in the same period of time, increase of volume and content of the Department's basic activities and a lasting need for implementing advanced diagnostician and therapeutic concepts, as well as maintaining excellence in the profession, Department's development is followed by accompanying space-broadening of activities, change of organizational structure, systematic informatization and growing expert, scientific, teaching and editorial activities. Above said resulted in establishing a teaching base on Faculty of Medicine Osijek, Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek and forming the Referral Center for Diagnostics Parathyroid Disease of the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare of Republic of Croatia, making conditions for academic, graduate studies and specialized education of department's stuff.
