Sažetak
Many sensors have been developed and used for rate-adptive pacing in the recent years, but only few of them (activity sensor, minute ventilation, ventricular paced QT interval, peak endocardial acceleration sensor) succeeded in long term clinical evaluation. The choice of sensor mostly depends on the life style of the patient, the type and sverity of the underlying heart disease, the type of arrhythmia, and the possibility of the atrial pacing. Four important characteristics of the senzors should be considered befor clinical utilzation in individual patient: speed of response to the onset of exercise, proportionality and realtion to different exercie modalities, sensitivity to nonexercise stimualtion, and specificity to increase in oxygen demand.
