Sažetak
A logistics chain represents a group of interconnected and interest-based logistics and neo-logistics providers, the objective of which it is to realise a joint business venture. The activities of a logistics chain in the hotel industry begins with the design of a hotel offering, followed by its marketing on the tourism market, and ending in the consumption of the hotel offering and in hotel-guest satisfaction. Logistics chains include all players and processes that are directly or indirectly involved in meeting the needs and wants of modern hotel guests. Logistics chains carry out two primary functions: a physical function and a market-intermediary function. The physical function of logistics chains refers to material flows within a logistics chain, that is, procurement, raw materials and supplies, parts of semi-products and products. The intermediary function of a global logistics system in the hotel industry ensures that a hotel offering reaches the tourist market in accordance with solvent demand. Supply chain management is a modern concept of managing a company’ s business and its relationships by integrating logistics into the supply chain and by interconnecting all the company’ s business functions, while attaching key importance to marketing.
