Sažetak
Production of high quality wood charcoal is traditional producing process in “ Factory of Wood Processing in Belišće” . Developments of chemical and process industry in general make this process disputable. Destructive distillation of wood (DDW) is chemical-heating process of heating wood in the absence of oxygen (pyroligneous reaction. The main product in this process is wood charcoal, while the secondary products are retort gases and steams. After retorts, in traditional process, the exhaust gases and steams are submit to condensation, which produce non-condensed retort gas and pyroligneous acid (PA). Acetic acid, different alcohols, ketones, aldehydes etc. are valuable byproduct that recovers form PA by fractional distillation. However, modern synthetic productions of these products are simpler and economical, which results in relinquishing of further PA processing in "Factory of Wood Processing in Belišće". Factory in full capacity makes about 25 000 kg PA daily, which consist of water (80%) and different substances (20%), which are dangerous for humanity and environment. So, for continue of this wood charcoal production it was necessary to take care of PA on environmentally friendly way. According to "Preliminary technological design of provide for pyroligneous acid in "Factory of Wood Processing of Belišće" it was made the plant reconstruction that assume the destructive distillation of wood and direct combustion of exhaust retort steams and gases instead of their condensation. The reconstitution gave several positive effects. Condensation phase is eliminated, no fabricate of undesirable waste byproduct (PA), retort gases become the main heat fuel (consumption of natural gas is only 10%), and ecological-friendly smoke is exhaust in environment after retorts and dryers. Emission measuring was established concordance of pollutant and Decree of limit value of pollutant emission from stationary source to air.
