Sažetak
Fifteen sugar beet genotypes (five multigerm lines, five hybrids and five monogerm lines) grown under field condition on three plots of Eastern Croatia two years. Leaf samples for biochemical analysis were taken in stage of maximal development of leaf area (the first decade of July). Mean sample contained 40 leaves from middle part of rosete. Prepared samples were destroyed by conc. sulphuric acid. Leaf nitrogen concentration were determined by micro Kjeldahl, while potassium, sodium, magnesium and calcium by atomic absorption spectrophotometry. Phosphorus was determined spectrophotometrically by molybdate-vandat method. After sugar beet harvest in October, root yield and sugar concentration were determined. Differences in concentration of investigated elements in leaves, between seed forms were significant. Potassium concentration in the sugar beet leaf was in positive correlation with sugar content. Between Ca and Ma concentration in leaf and also between N and P was positive correlation. Hybrids have averagely higher root yield by 16% than multigerm lines, and by 35% higher yield than monogerm lines. Multigerm lines had highest sugar content (13, 97%), lower hybrids (13, 48%) and the lowest monogerm lines (13, 21%).

Napomena
Istraživanje varijabilnosti svojstava između
genotipova odnosno hibrida i linija daje
mogućnost njihova izbora za određene
agroekološke uvjete uzgoja. Stoga su podaci za
svaku kulturu značajan doprinos principu
povećanja prinosa i kakvoće putem izbora
najboljih genotipova (sorata, hibrida) za
određeno uzgojno područje.
