Sažetak
That tourism trends in Europe are mass can nowadays be seen only through the rise of the number of participants in tourism trends. All other segments include a selective approach to tourist development based on comparative advantages contained in both natural and cultural resources and in possibilities of sustainable development of every single tourist destination. In the competitive struggle, all European countries are trying to get the best of their resources, annul the existing negativities and by doing so, they are trying to make their way up on the tourist scale of Europe and the World. Increasingly diversified and complex tourist demands are redirecting the supply towards new tourism trends, putting emphasis on their own image and the identity of specific destination through specificity of contents and familiarity of products and services. Under the influence of tourist demand, new tourist contents are being created in order to attract a specific segment of tourist demand and to rise above the boundaires of regionality and seasonality. Specific advantages of different seasons provide tourist supply carriers with possibilities of creating an adequate supply that will rise above seasonal business. Competitive price policy and effective promotion are used to attract guests and to maximize market share and make a profit. In international tourism, Europe still holds the leading position, with estimates that it will continue to do so in the future, but with its share shrinking, influenced by the existance of new attractive destinations on the tourism market.
