Sažetak
Purified ganglioside mixtures isolated from frontal and occipital lobe cortex, as well as hippocampus of an adult human brain were comparatively analyzed by nano-electrospray ionization quadrupole time-of-flight mass spectrometry, under identical conditions. The brain region-specific ganglioside patterns were clearly detected by MS1 screening in the negative ion mode. Both qualitative and quantitative differences of ganglioside expression in the analyzed brain regions were observed and comparatively systematized. MS2 sequencing was employed for confirming structural identity of the detected species.
