Sažetak
Total ganglioside mixture was isolated and purified from a residual nervous tissue of anencephalic fetus (23 gestational weeks). Compositional and structural characterization of the purified ganglioside mixture was performed by recently developed advanced mass spectrometric approach using electrospray ionization high capacity ion trap mass spectrometer. More than 50 brain-associated ganglioside species was detected by MS1 mapping in the negative in mode. MS2 to MS4 multiple stage sequencing enabled reliable, high sensitivity structural identification of individual species directly from the complex mixture.
