Sažetak
Conceptualization, application and evaluation of complementary supportive therapeutic approaches represents a special problem area in the treatment and psychosocial rehabilitation of oncology patients. During the past ten years controlled clinical study have been made in this field within two Croatian scientific projects as well as in some forms of co-operation with foreing institutions. This study includes some results of clinical research with various groups of breast cancer patients. The research was made at the Department of Rehabilitation of the Clinic for Tumours in Zagreb, Department of Endocrinology and Nuclear Medicine and Oncology Department of the University Hospital "Sisters of Charity", Department of Motility Disturbances and Chronic Diseases, F.D. at the Zagreb University and Center for Treatment and Cancerologic Research "Claudius Regaud" - Toulouse. Transcultural aspects in consideration of biopsychosocial and spiritual aspects of personality, research philosophy and differential diagnostics of existential tension in breast cancer patients have been presented. The fundumental hypothesis has been based on the synthesis of various aspects of biomedical and humanistic science and Arts. A theoretical and operational model of Creative Therapy has been presented along with the use of art-media in therapeutic communication and analysis of tendencies of change. The following problem areas have been extracted: energy potential and inner rhetoric of Good and Bad, existential tension and processing of induced variables extracted on the basis of self-evaluation scales, observation of some body-image determinants, aesthetic dimension of existential experience in the therapy, inter-relationship of some psychosocial, endocrinological and psychoneuroimmunologic mediators. Experts from various fields were encouraged by the results of these researches to co-operate on a new scientific project entitled "Supportive Therapies in the Life Potential Development". On the basis of its concordance with priorities in the Croatian National Scientific Research Program the Project has been included in the group of main Croatian scientific research projects for the next period. From ethical and aesthetic point of view, inspiration and discovery of new truths about our existence posses authenic image of primordial aesthetism and quality of life - so that the effort of clinical experts and researchers presented in this study, might be a contribution to our endeavour to understand numerous problem areas.
