Sažetak
The last ten-year survey of remote sensing and GIS applications for forestry purpose in Croatia indicates a strong research effort, but very limited operational use. These effort resulted with methodology and applications in several segments like forest inventory, management, planing and ecological investigations. The examples of developed methodology and proposals for use of remote sensing and GIS in forestry have been applied to Educational and research forest ˛Opeke˛. The structure and model of data base using ARC/INFO for forest management are examined. Several proposals for stand parameters (stand age, volume, number of trees etc.) assessment using aerial photographs for inventory and ecological purpose are described. An application example of harvest regression models are established.
