Sažetak
Our study demonstrates that among Ph-negative MPDs, the number of circulating hematopoietic progenitor cells is similar between patients with and without the JAK2 W617F mutation. Since and increased number of circulating progenior cells is a characteristic feature of patients wiht IMF that provides diagnostic and prognostic information, the assessment of progenior cell number by colony assays of FACS analysis cannot simply be replaced by the determination of the JAK2 mutation status.
