Sažetak
The paper presents researche on some climatic changes (precipitation, air temperature, evapotranspiration) in eastern Croatia during the period 1970 to 1992. Throught an anlysis of basic climatic data for three meteorological stations( Osijek, Županja, Virovitica) it was found out that in the investigated area periods of drough appeared more often since 1981. In the region of Eastern Croatia a long-term average is 722 mm of precipitation annually i.e. 398 in crop vegetation. However, , after 1981, total annual percipitation decreased to 584 mm (95 mm less than long-term years average) and vegetation period precipitation to 354 mm (44 mm les than the long term average). At the same time, the warming period occurred ; thus mean annual air temperature increased by about 0, 9 degree C and in vegetation period by 1, 2-1, 7degree C . Because of the warmer climate, reference evapotranspiration (ETo) increased by 420 mm-210 mm anually and vegetation evapotranspiration increased from 41 mm - 82 mm of water. With an increase in reference evapotranspiration especially in dry years, which appeared 35-45%, more often crop water requirements increased during the growing season. This is why, for the purpose of irrigation practice, in this paper crop water requirements and depth irrigations have been calculated for some cropt that are sown and irrigated in these regions (maize, sugar beet, sunflower, potato, watermelon, cabbage and tomato).
