Sažetak
Teacher education students undertaking this course will gain a sound foundation for further studies in the fields of linguistics and applied linguistics. More precisely, this course develops in students a conceptual knowledge-base about language and its formal structures. Expected outcomes: students will develop an understanding of the formal systems of language and an understanding of the conceptual frameworks of major linguistic theories ; students will learn how to use these concepts for describing linguistic systems and their functioning in diverse social-cultural contexts, and students will learn ways in which these theoretical concepts can be applied to language teaching.
