Sažetak
Burnout syndrom is a form of professional stress that appears as a reaction to cronic sources of stress at work. Burnout is particullary present in professions that include providing help in emotionally colored situations. The aim of this study was to estimate changes in stress and burnout in educators after implementation of specific intervention programs for children with autism spectrum disorders. The sample includes 12 educators, employees who work in Center for autism, Zagreb. The main criteria for this sample was receiving additional education for TEACCH program and implementation of the program for one year in their groups. In the study the following assessments were used: demographic data, assessment of attitudes toward work with persons with severe intellectual disabilities, burn out, satisfaction with one´ ; s own life, suggestions for improvement of quality of work, reaction to professional stress and scale coping strategies. Discriminative analysis method was used to assess changes before and after the implemntation of intervention programs. Analysis of quatitative and qualitative changes-component model in sample of respodents described by a group of quatitative variables in two points in time by PROM program (Nikolić, 1997) was used. The results have shown that implementation of specific program for persons in autistic spectrum disorders may contribute to the greater proffesional satisfaction of educators and in that way to the reduction or eventual prevention of burnout sindrom.
