Sažetak
In modern communication systems with a video transmission as their important part, objective video quality evaluation is needful in the QoS (quality of service) assessment. This article analyzes video content masking effects to the visibility of the compression artifacts, and consequently its importance in the digital video quality evaluation process. An overview of the spatial masking usage in different video quality models is given. Also, some experimental results of quality evaluation of MPEG-4 Visual and H.264/AVC coded videos are presented
