Sažetak
Wellness supply is a contemporary concept of the tourism supply that takes care of meeting various human needs. For this purpose the experts from various areas such as tourism, medicine, kinesiology, economics, architecture, etc., who deal with the improvement of the quality of life of people, have created wellness programmes that will consequently improve the quality of the lives of people in their free time, particularly during their vacation in special health-tourism centres. Wellness supply in Croatian tourism can be developed within the existing tourism supply: -in the centres providing health tourism together with the programmes of rehabilitation and health preservation, -in mountain centres together with recreational programmes, -in high-class hotels as recreational and beauty programmes, and -in hotel centres along the coast as a complement to the recreational programmes, active rest or health preservation, etc. Experience regarding this issue in similar tourist health centres in Germany, Italy, Slovenia and some other countries confirm the hypothesis that wellness represents a new quality of health-tourism supply, but also an additional source of economic effects in tourism (according to Stemper, 2005, pp. 371-377).
