Sažetak
The modern computer simulation enables to improve our knowledge about solidification of castings, realize short time of production and, at the same time, to decrease costs, so to produce castings without casting defects. Pilger roll is casting of relative complex geometry for which 3-D solidification simulation is carried out on the program package MAGMAsoft 3.5. On the basis of simulation the best technological solution is chosen, which consists of the use of down gray iron chill and upper wide isolated riser, so without pouring any casting.
