Sažetak
Standard digestion techniques utilized at IGI (Institute of Geology) for environmental studies of other trace elements where tested for Se analysis of recent organic matter- carbonate rich sediments. The Se content was determined by hydride generation ICP atomic emission spectrometry after extraction of sediment Se by three different dissolution techniques: 7 mol HNO3 digestion, aqua regia digestion and the acid mixture HF-HCl-HNO3. The concentrations of Se extracted ranged from 0.19 to 0.31 mg kg-1 Se by 7 mol HNO3 digestion, from 0.27 to 0.35 mg kg-1 Se by hot aqua regia digestion and from 0.42 to 0.76 mg kg-1 Se by closed microwave HF-HCl-HNO3 digestion. The large differences in Se concentrations between aqua regia and HF-HCl-HNO3 digestion can be probably attributed to impedance of hydride-forming process that occurs due to the incompletely digested organic material from organic-rich samples by aqua regia.
