Sažetak
Storke occurs more often in patients with diabetes mellitus (DM) than in the rest of the population, accompanied by more risk factors. In our group of patients with DM, cerebrovascular disease on the average developed five years after the onset of DM: most of the observed patients did not have regulated values of glycemia. The degree of disability according to the Barthels index was higher in pateints with hemorrhagic than in those with ischemic stroke: it was more frequent in men than in women.
