Sažetak
The objective of this paper is to discuss changes of offshore boundary system in the Adriatic Sea in an age of geopolitical change. One of the consequences of the break-up of Yugoslavia and demise of communism was fragmentation of the boundary system in the Adriatic: a number of existing and eventual maritime boundaries increased from three to eight. It's been find out that they can ge grouped into: a) continuously unsettled boundaries, b) succeeded boundaries, c) newly settled boundaries, d) new and unsettled boundaries. Boundary disputes are related only to the last group. They are the result of unresolved territorial issues on the land. Disputes are not generated by conflicting maritime claims over ownership of resources or fisheries. They should be resolved on the basis of primciples established by international Law of the sea, especially developed in last 15 years. In spite of current existence of several disputed maritime boundaries, prospects are rather optimistic. The Adriatic may be the first part of Mediterranean in which will all potential boundaries be agreed.
