Sažetak
Barremian succession at this locality, along with the first occurrence of and then more numerous examples of the foraminifera Palorbitolina lenticularis (BLUMENBACH), also contains calcareous algae ; Biokoviella robusta (SOKAČ), individual cross-sections of Triploporella marsicana PRATURLON and Neomeris cretacea STEINMANN, and Linoporella sp. This is the type locality of Biokoviella robusta (SOKAČ, 1993), and in the immediate vicinity also the type locality of Salpingoporella biokoviensis (SOKAČ & VELIĆ, 1980). Lower Aptian Bacinella– Palorbitolina limestone is morphologically specific by its massive habit. The main lithological characteristic of this limestone is an alteration of mudstone/fossiliferous mudstones and Bacinella-oncoid floatstones. The oncoids are of the algal-ball type, created by Bacinella growing over mollusc bioclasts, foraminifera and algae. Microfossils that occur in the mudstones and in floatstone matrix are the calcareous algae Salpingoporella dinarica RADOIČIĆ and Triploporella marsicana (PRATURLON), along with the important benthic foraminifera Palorbitolina lenticularis (BLUMENBACH), Neotrocholina friburgensis GUILLAUME & REICHEL, Voloshinoides murgensis LUPERTO SINNI & MASSE, Pseudolituonella conica LUPERTO SINNI & MASSE and Debarina hahounerensis FOURCADE, RAOULT & VILA, as well as the pelagic forms Hedbergella sp. and Saccocoma sp.
