Sažetak
Privatisation, as one of possible company restructuring models, appears in Croatian road transport sector, but it is used by a number of highly developed countries, which did not pass through transitional process characteristic for ex-communist East European countries, as well. Private sector favouritism in comparison to public sector in infrastructure sector, especially in transport, is not news. However, privatisation concept has always collided with public interests in transport sector. The case is that part of the transport sector, as city public transport systems, was used for a number of social functions and wider public interest functions. Thus, a complete transport sector privatisation is not possible. Sooner or later, clash of interests between the public interest and interests of private capital, which tends to maximise profits, would occur. This paper analyses achieved privatisation level, as well as market concentration evaluation of a transport sector. That sector is cargo and passenger transport in Croatia. The analysis is comparatively oriented to evaluate changes in market structure before and after the transition process (privatisation) in Croatia.
