Sažetak
To explore the basic pathohistological characteristics of breast cancer in Split region of Croatia detected before the introduction of national breast cancer mammographic screening program, with particular interest in the proportion of detected minimal breast cancers (non-invasive and minimal invasive breast cancers / Tis and T1a, b). The small percentage of minimal breast cancers among breast cancer in Split region of Croatia justifies the need for introduction of the population-based mammographic screening program, although some difficulties in the pathological management of screened abnormalities are expected.
