Sažetak
Diurnal activity of adult horse flies was determined by 2-hourly collections from the Malaise traps during the summer of 1993, in Petrijevci CR 05 Eastern Croatia. The Malaise traps were baited with CO2 as an attractant. The major peak of horse flies activity was recorded in the early afternoon, around 2 pm. For most abundant species Haematopota subcylindrica Pandelle, 1883, Haematopota pluvialis (Linnaeus, 1761) and Tabanus bromius Linnaeus, 1758, the major peak diurnal activity was recorded between noon and 2 pm, while for the species the Chrysops parallelogrammus Zeller, 1842, the major peak was recorded between 2 and 4 pm. Optimal temperatures for diurnal activity were generally 25-29oC.
