Sažetak
The thesis presents the results of a small-scale research on the posssibility of individual reading in English as a foreign language in primary classes. The results have shown that young learners are capable of reading and understanding chosen storybooks (picture books) in English in the initial stages of learning English and that they are highly motivated for reading and follow-up activities. It has been concluded that individual reading can function as a normal part of the teaching practice with young learners.
