Sažetak
Each culture has its own view of the fairies, their origin and their description. More or less, fairies are human in form and their behaviour is much like ours. They can be classified in several ways, for instance, according to the elements (air, earth, water and fire), according to their dwelling, according to whether they are good or evil, etc. Fairy fiction is a category of literature the content of which is connected to the fairies and their realm. Throughout the literary history, the stories were passed from generation to generation orally and then they were collected by people who put them on paper. Today, based on mythology and folklore, many writers find inspiration in fairies, which have become even more popular.
