Sažetak
This paper summarizes the results of a study of the Ural Owl Strix uralensis macroura undertaken from 1993 to 2007, designed to determine the geographic range of the species in Croatia and to provide information on its habitat preferences and density. The call playback method was used to locate birds. The study was based mainly on 19 plots (total survey area of 1070 km2) covering all major forest types in Croatia, which were systematically surveyed for the owls.
